LET’S START WITH YOUR LOT

Can I install a mobile
home on this lot?

The parcel evaluator is coming soon. Start today with a free preparation checklist and the five questions to investigate.

START WITH WHAT YOU KNOW

A little homework.
A lot more clarity.

Our interactive parcel evaluator is in development. For now, create a preparation checklist for your situation. This does not research or rate a property.

YOUR STARTING CHECKLIST

Before you fall in love
with the lot.

  • Identify the parcel and the governing city or county.
  • Check whether the proposed home use and layout are allowed.
  • Confirm water, sewer or septic, and electric service.
  • Review flood conditions and the home's wind rating.
  • Ask what permits, surveys and design work are needed.

Select your situation to tailor this preparation list.

FIVE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER

Look beyond
the listing.

“Bring your mobile home” is a starting point for questions. The local authority and project records determine what can actually be approved.

01   Does the land allow the use?

Confirm zoning, lot recognition, dimensions, setbacks and any restrictions. A prior home can be useful evidence, but does not by itself establish today's right to install a replacement.

02   Does the home fit the site?

Bring the year, width, length, bedrooms, bathrooms and manufacturer data plate. The home and the available placement area need to work together.

03   Can utilities serve the home?

Verify water and sewer separately, along with electric service. If a well or septic system is needed, investigate feasibility and costs before finalizing the site plan.

04   What does flooding mean for the project?

Check the mapped flood conditions and local requirements. Elevation, surveys and foundation design can affect the budget and the home's placement.

05   Is the home suitable for local wind requirements?

Check the home's documented wind rating and the installation requirements for its location. Plan review and installation details remain project-specific.
